Travel site Tripadvisor.com has found the almost 86% of Britons will try out local delicacies when on holiday, with as many as 82% of them not even knowing what they are eating.
The survey showed that 40% of UK holidaymakers would eat guinea pigs in Peru, and 35% would give deep fried grasshoppers a try in Thailand.
Adventurous Britons abroad ordered Mexican Chimichangas, believing it was a coffee-based dessert instead of a spicy deep fried burrito, and over 250 of the people quizzed thought that ordering cuisses de grenouille in France would mean they were eating sheeps testicles, rather than frogs legs.
Snake, fish porridge and wasabi ice cream were other things tested on the international menu.
Italy, France and Thailand - despite their strange gastronomic delights - came up top of the poll for the best, and best value, food.
Maybe an idea to learn some of the language before tasting the cuisine, or who knows what you'll end up eating!
